Ralph Thompson
My life has been shaped largely by pursuing my interest in exploring life through science (academically) and art (leisurely), and by a few people who I have met along the way.

Aside from my academic interest in the biosciences I am a keen amateur artist working in a variety of media (drawing, painting and photography) with a focus on the human form as a subject. Examples of my work can be seen on my porportfoliotfolio pages and an explanation of the ideas behind them in my artistic philosophy. I also organise and teach life drawing classes.

In 2014 I completed a Ph.D., conducting research at the interface of animal behaviour science and human psychology at the University of Bristol, see academic interests for more details. Before moving to Bristol I completed an M.Sc. in Biology (Integrative Biosciences) at the Department of Zoology in the University of Oxford where I was a member of Pembroke College, Oxford. I am also a scholar of King's College, Cambridge where I graduated with first class honours in Natural Sciences (Zoology).
I also continue to spend time on my artwork. Please contact me with any enquiries regarding commissioning or purchasing my work.
